The impact of climate change is evident on the Indian monsoons, which have become more erratic and violent over the last few years. Moreover, there have been long spells of dry seasons followed by heavy monsoons. The inter-annual monsoon rainfall variability in India leads to large-scale droughts and floods, resulting in major effect on agriculture production (Kumar K. K., Kumar, Ashrit, Deshpande, & Hansen, 2004).
